Gordon D. Anderson, age 71, of Clear Lake, SD passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Clear Lake with Rev. Michael Enderle officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD and will resume Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Gordon Dale Anderson was born on November 10, 1940 to John and Sylvia Anderson in Estelline, SD. He attended school, graduating in the Clear Lake area. Gordon entered the Army in November of 1960 and was honorably discharged in September of 1964. He farmed for 47 years southwest of Clear Lake, milking cows for 30 years and later raising stock cows and crops.

Gordon was united in marriage to Donna Waller on July 7, 2000 in Rapid City, SD at the Chapel in the Hills. They lived on the farm until his death there on July 15, 2012 at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Gordon was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. He enjoyed going to the races. In his later years he also enjoyed traveling. His miniature donkeys brought him much happiness and his heart was especially warmed by “Pug“, his pet pug dog.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Donna Anderson of Clear Lake, SD; two step-children: Kristina (David) Bauer of Elkton, SD and Melissa (Dwight) Merry of Dell Rapids, SD; five step-grandchildren: Mark Gould, Joshua Gould, Curtis Gould, Brock Merry, John Merry and his friends and neighbors.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Levilla Anderson and two brothers, Galen and Virgil Anderson.
